Why We’re Pivoting Away from Social Media (And Where We’re Going Instead)

When I first launched Jorden Anderson Consulting, I didn’t jump into social media right away. Honestly, I wasn’t sure we were “good enough” yet. I worried we didn’t have the right content or polished messaging. I thought we had to look a certain way or hit certain milestones before we could show up.

But over time, I realized that if we were going to support mission-driven organizations across the country, we had to be visible — even if things weren’t perfect.

So, like many entrepreneurs, I jumped in. I shared grant tips. I offered behind-the-scenes glimpses. I tried to build community in a digital space that moves a mile a minute.

But if I’m being honest? Somewhere along the way, it stopped feeling aligned.

Social Media Started to Feel Disingenuous

At first, it felt like the right thing to do — post regularly, engage, share client wins, go behind the scenes. But over time, the pressure to keep up with algorithms, and “on-trend” content began to outweigh the actual connection I was craving.

We're making a pivot to something that feels more aligned

And let’s be real: connection is at the heart of nonprofit work.

The very nature of what we do — securing grant funding, building strong organizational infrastructure, and helping leaders steward their missions — requires depth, trust, and intentionality. And while social media can offer visibility, it wasn’t offering the depth we value most.

So We're Making a Change — One That Feels More Like Us

We're officially pivoting our marketing strategy away from social media and into two spaces that feel much more aligned: blogging and our monthly email newsletter.

Here’s why:

  • Writing is our zone of genius. As a professional grant writer, storytelling is in my zone of genius. Sharing insights through long-form content allows us to dig deeper, explain the “why,” and empower nonprofit leaders to make informed decisions.

  • We want to offer real value, not just fleeting posts. A blog post can be referenced again and again. An email can be saved and shared. That kind of content creates lasting, evergreen impact.

  • Our audience deserves more than scrollable sound bites. If you’re a nonprofit leader, you’re probably overwhelmed already. You don’t need more noise — you need clarity, encouragement, and strategic guidance you can trust.

What to Expect Moving Forward

From now on, you’ll see fewer Instagram and Facebook posts and more thoughtful blog posts.

We’ll be covering topics like:

  • How to create a sustainable nonprofit grant-seeking strategy

  • What makes a grant application stand out (and what funders really look for)

  • Common grant-related mistakes that hold organizations back from growth

  • And personal reflections from this wild ride of entrepreneurship + motherhood

Because this is what feels real, and this is where we can serve you best.

Want to Stay in the Loop?

If you’ve ever found value in what we’ve shared — whether it was a quick grant tip or a deeper perspective on nonprofit leadership — I’d love for you to stay connected.

You’ll get thoughtful insights, resources you can actually use, and updates that help you grow with intention — no algorithm required.

Here’s to building something that makes a lasting digital impact!
